What to do during the All Saints’ Day vacations in the Pays de Vire?

- Vire Normandie Museum offers several activities for the whole family. Two workshops with Marion Alexandre: drawing « Bats, mushrooms, pumpkins… » on Friday, October 28 from 2 to 4 pm and painting « Autumn colors » on Friday, November 4 from 2 to 4 pm. A guided tour « Discover the museum’s reserves with our collections manager » on Wednesday, November 2 from 2 to 3 pm.
- The gardens of the Albizia Estate in Livry are decorated in Halloween colors. From Saturday, October 22 to Monday, November 7, come and experience a unique Halloween festival in Normandy: Black Park. Imagine, 3 hectares of gardens entirely decorated with the colors of this Halloween festival. The access to Black Park is without reservation and the entrance ticket is 7€ per person including the treasure hunt.
- From October 22 to November 6, discover the Jurques zoo for Halloween: pumpkins in disguise, trickster skeletons and mocking witches invade the alleys.
- On Saturday, October 29, the Souterroscope des Ardoisières offers you an experience that will transform your visit for Halloween with 2 formulas for 2 totally different atmospheres: the day of anguish from 11am to 5pm and the night of terror from 8pm to midnight!
- From Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th of October, go to the Autumn Fair of Etouvy and to our partner, Will to Go Park, which will concoct a Halloween weekend with obligatory disguises to access the park, parties, photo contest and role playing games.
- On Sunday October 30th, meet at the market of artisans and local producers of the Chèvres de la Saffrie in Montchamp from 10am to 5pm. Many local producers and craftsmen will be present at the goat farm. Find different animations on the medieval theme this year: blacksmithing, archery, tales, walk of Vikings. Storytelling walks with Jehan des Bois « tales and parchments », at 11am, 2pm and 4pm, paying 3 euros for children – 5 euros for adults.
- Monday October 31, it’s Halloween at the Bowling of Vire. On the program: distribution of candy and a death cocktail offered to all those dressed up.
- Wednesday, November 2, starting at 10am, Renarderie horse riding organizes pony games and a candy hunt (60-65€ for non-members).
- Saturday November 5, Vir’king raid proposes a new edition of the vir’é nocturne, an orienteering race from 8 years old, urban race course of 6, 10, 15 or 24 km by team of 2 or 3 persons.
The Pays de Vire is a land of hiking
We have more than 700 km of walking paths, that is to say more than 60 circuits, 40 of which are of good quality (less than 30% of road). You are bound to find one near your accommodation!
For mountain bikers, there are also 29 marked mountain bike and FC circuits, considered to be the best in Normandy, on the « Chemins du Bocage Virois ». There are also two state forests, lakes, cycling circuits (cycle route from the D-Day landing beaches to Mont Saint-Michel) and equestrian itineraries (Chevauchée de Guillaume, la Rando des Haras).
