St- Ortaire Church of Malloué

Church of St-Ortaire of the VIth Century. St-Ortaire preached the Gospel to the pagans before returning to the Bocage, the region of his birth, where he lived for 38 year in a grotto as a true hermit.
Built on a rocky promontory dominating the Vire, this small XVIIth Century church is situated on the road from St Jacques de Compostelle to Mont Saint Michel as the shells on the cross, near to the access road, clarify. The interior of the church, which is typical of the Bocage, shelters the statue of St Ortaire.
