Medieval Calvary

This calvary was built at the end of the Hundred Years’ War, in the 15th century. It is placed in a place then called la Cour de Bures and represents the three crosses of Mount Golgotha (near Jerusalem), the precise place where Jesus of Nazareth is said to have been crucified, called « Golgotha » by the Gospels. The central cross, that of Jesus, is higher than the side crosses.
